Personal bankruptcy legal assistance

Legal assistance for individuals and creditors in Russian personal bankruptcy matters. Before considering a procedure, we review debts, assets, income and previous transactions.

Personal bankruptcy: prepare for your consultation

  • Debts: creditors, principal balances, interest, arrears, guarantees and disputed claims, with agreements and calculations.
  • Income and essential expenses: employment, pension and other income, household members and dependants.
  • Assets: real estate, vehicles, accounts, business interests, security and jointly owned marital property, including disputed rights.
  • Litigation and enforcement: court orders, judgments, enforcement proceedings and bailiff notices.
  • Transactions: sales, gifts, marital property division, major transfers and payments to individual creditors in the last three years. Earlier records may also be relevant.

What the initial review covers

We discuss eligibility for judicial or out-of-court bankruptcy under Russian law, alternatives, asset and transaction risks, costs and obligations that may survive. Not all debts are discharged; maintenance obligations require separate attention. Relief also depends on good-faith conduct.

Illustrative situation: someone gave a vehicle to a relative before seeking advice. A change of owner alone does not establish protection from creditors. We examine the date, terms and effect of the transaction. This is a hypothetical issue, not an account of a client's case.

Bring records to your appointment. Do not post debts, account information or asset details in public reviews or comments.

How we can help

Documents for the initial meeting

Loan agreements and acknowledgments of debt, a creditor list, court decisions, enforcement records, and information about income, assets and transactions.

Can discharge of every debt be promised in advance?

No. Eligibility and consequences depend on the documents and circumstances. The consultation covers limitations, risks and possible alternatives. Legal fees and other costs are considered separately.

Process and fees

We clarify your objective, review the available records and agree the scope and terms of the engagement. Fees depend on the work and stage of the case; expenses and additional steps are discussed in advance. Bring the documents you have, even if the set is incomplete.
